In 1903, in the sleepy town of Van Meter, Iowa, panic broke out as many residents saw what would become the infamous Van Meter Visitor. Resembling a horned, bat-like creature with the ability to shoot beams of light from its head, it soon became a legend in the town, and sightings continue up until this day. Residents of Van Meter, Iowa now celebrate the creature with a yearly festival. If you happen to visit, keep an eye out for that 8-foot-tall horned rascal!
